Puppy Training

Potty Training, Puppy Socials, and Group and Private Obedience Training for Puppies on the UWS and UES

When to start Puppy Training

The best time to start training and socializing a puppy is as soon as possible. Puppies develop quickly, and the best way to set them up for a happy, healthy life is to teach them good play, social, and obedience skills while they're still an impressionable pup.

We take all necessary precautions when it comes to our puppy services to make sure we provide a clean, sanitary space for young puppies. Our puppy services are safe for puppies as young as 8 weeks, even if they haven't had all their vaccinations.

Puppy Social

Friday nights at 7:00pm

FREE

One of the most important things a puppy needs to learn is how to socialize and communicate with other dogs. Healthy play skills, bite inhibition, corrections, reading social cues... young puppies have a lot to learn about how to make and keep friends, and all of these skills become harder and harder to learn as a dog grows older.

We believe so strongly in the importance of every puppy having the opportunity to learn these skills, that we offer our Puppy Social for FREE for all puppies 5 months and younger.

We only allow puppies to attend our Puppy Social and sanitize our play area before every social, so it's safe for young puppies to attend, even if they haven't completed their immunizations yet.

Puppy Social is held at our facility at 79th and Broadway on the UWS Friday nights from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

All puppies 8 weeks to 5 months old are welcome to attend our social, regardless of breed or vaccination status. Reserve your spot today!

Potty Training

$180 - 60 minute session

Potty training, house training, house breaking, whatever you call it, it's one of the most urgent things on any new puppy owner's mind.

In this single 60 minute session, our trainer will teach you all the techniques you need to know to successfully potty train your dog using 100% positive reinforcement. We'll also provide you with a custom potty schedule letting you know when to offer your pup food, water, naps, and playtime so that your pup goes potty at consistent times, making it easy to guide them to the right spot.

The most important part of effective potty training is consistently adhering to the schedule so you can reward your puppy for going potty outside every time. Puppies that consistently follow our at-home potty log and training techniques have fewer accidents within just a couple days, and stop having accidents inside in about 2 weeks. After that, it's just a matter of maintaining the schedule until your puppy's bladder muscles mature.

If your puppy's goals extend beyond potty training, or if they're dealing with behavioral issues, we recommend setting up a Private Training Plan instead, so we can address all of your puppy's needs. Common behaviors that should be address with private training are:

  • Your dog is holding their bladder on all walks and immediately goes potty when inside

  • Your dog goes potty the moment they are left alone in the apartment

  • Your dog is intentionally marking places in the home

  • Your dog is scared or overstimulated on walks and is too distracted to go potty outside

  • Your dog has decided that a specific place in the apartment, such as a crate or bed, is their bathroom and goes potty there every time.
